Bon Accord Bulletin 12th September 2021

 

Services:

Services, for those not attending the church in person, can be found by logging in to the Bon Accord Free Church web site, bafreechurch.org.uk and then clicking “sermons” followed by “live sermons” or by logging on live.bafreechurch.org.uk. Both morning and evening services will be live streamed.

 

The services this weekend will be conducted by the minister, Rev. Joe Hall.

The Scripture passage for the morning service will be John 1:19-42 ('The First Witness'), and the passage for the evening service will be Psalm 6 ('The Weeping King').

 

There will be neighbourhood fellowships this week. Details about the location/zoom details for these meetings will be sent out by group leaders during the week.

Activities during the week:

We are recommencing many of our regular activities in person. See below for details.

 

Crèche and Sunday School:

Creche and Sunday school will both run downstairs during the morning service.

 

Sunday evening prayer meeting:

The prayer meeting, which is held on a Sunday evening at 5.30pm, has started again in the church building. If possible, please enter by the back door. All are welcome.

 

Guys Bible Study:

Guys Bible study meets on a Thursday evening at 7.00pm. Please ring the bell at the back door for entry.

 

Activities for Teens:

Bible class will take place this Sunday. Please leave the church at the same time as Sunday School. There will be a teens movie night on Friday 17 September at 7.30pm in the church hall.

 

Little Lambs (BA mother and toddlers’ group):

Little Lambs has started once again and runs on a Friday from 9.30am and finishes at 11.30am. The start time is flexible and entry is by the downstairs door. During this time we have play and crafts, snack for both children and adults and a time of singing.

 

Annual Business Meeting:

The Annual Business Meeting will be held on Wednesday 22 September at 7:30pm, in place of the usual Prayer Meeting. This will be an opportunity to hear from the Treasurers and approve the congregational accounts, as well as getting updates from others. This will be held on Zoom - please make every effort to 'be there'.

 

The next Prayer Meeting (6 October) will be held in person at Bon Accord, in the large downstairs hall. There will also be the option to join the meeting via Zoom. Please contact Joe with any questions Minister

 

Sole Mates:

The next walk will take place on Monday 13 September. We will meet at Johnston Gardens at 1.30pm. The walk takes around an hour and is followed by a cuppa.

 

Lunch Club:

We will hold a lunch club for older folks in Bon Accord on Thursday 7 October at 12,30pm. If you have reached lunch club age it would be lovely to see new faces.

 

WFM Conference:

This will be held this Saturday18 September. Unfortunately, this year we are unable to be in Inverness as planned, but we are going to meet in the large hall to watch the conference!

Come along to the church at 10.30am and enjoy tea/coffee and baking. We will then join via YouTube to listen to the conference.

Ladies Book Study:

Our next meeting will be on Monday 27 September at 7.30pm, via zoom.  At present we are reading and discussing the Psalms from the book, “Tumbling Sky” by Matt Searles.

 

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal:

Just a wee reminder that the Christmas Shoebox Appeal is just round the corner. Please hold onto any average shoeboxes that you may have and drop them off at the church for wrapping up in the next few weeks. Leaflets for suggested shoebox items will be available at the church soon. More details to follow.
