Student Summer Plans E-mail
Joanne Morrison will be working at home in Inverness and going to EEFC in Romania.  Shona MacVicar is starting a new job in Glasgow after working in Stornoway for a few weeks.  Ian Bowman will be mainly working as usual and going to Beijing at the end of June.  Allan Green is also going to China for eight days and will then be working at Albyn Hospital for the rest of the summer. Catriona Stewart is going to Oswestry Junior Free Church camp. Should really work a little bit and hopefully will spend a few weeks on the tropical island of Lewis.  Melanie Bohmer is going to explore the Highlands on foot, then go back to Switzerland for a church camp.  Afterwards she will spend two weeks working in a chocolate factory before visiting her father in Germany.  Flora Imrie will be in Aberdeen for 6 weeks doing a research placement in Aberdeen University’s Chemistry department.  She is then off to Ireland for a couple of weddings and the rest of the holidays will be spent at home making hay while the sun shines (literally hay, hopefully literally sun).  Katherine Sced is going home to Edinburgh.  She will hopefully be working in a nursing home and doing kids camp in the Lake District.  Going to Ireland and south England as well.  Isabel Macleod will be going home to Lewis and working at a solicitors’ firm for most of the summer.  She is also going to her cousin’s wedding in Slovenia in July.  Gordon Crichton will hopefully be getting results for all 6/7/8 exams (I keep losing count).  He will be helping out in the Portree holiday club in the first week of the holidays, then hopefully getting a job in Portree somewhere.  EEFC is maybe on the agenda and he is then coming back to Aberdeen for his last year at college.  Sharon MacLeod will hopefully have a great job in Aberdeen by the time this is printed.  She is going to Romania with EEFC at the end of July and then to the Gaelic summer school in Lewis mid-August.  Mairi Cumming is hoping to visit family, have a nice holiday and, most importantly, go to EEFC.  Murdo Murchison is going to EEFC, working at home and is hoping to pass his driving test.  Donald MacLeod is heading home to Lewis and returning to start the PGDE in secondary teaching.  Andrew MacAulay is going home to Lewis and will be looking for a job in the Glasgow area.  Alastair Smilie will be working in childcare this summer.  Sean Ankers will be working at home, then going to Gaelic summer school in Stornoway, before coming back to start 3rd year.  Mairi Catherine Martin is in Peru for the summer.  She then plans coming back to start being a proper nurse.  Laura Nicolson is in Aberdeen on placement and will then be heading home at some point to Lewis before returning to start 2nd year.  Catherine MacAskill is going home for three weeks and helping out on the croft.  Julia Paterson is going to spend the summer working on the north coast, analysing salmon for St Andrews University. Aly MacLeod is looking for a job.  John MacPherson will be in sun-kissed Moyobamba, enjoying ice-cold coconut juice whilst getting an even greater tan.
